Sleep Medicine Team Introduction
Sleep is a crucial element in maintaining both physical and mental health. When sleep disorders occur, they not only affect quality of life but also have close associations with various medical and psychiatric conditions. The advancement of sleep medicine has provided clinicians with better understanding and updated approaches to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of sleep disorders.
The Taipei Medical University healthcare system established its first sleep center in 2005 in TMU hospital, followed by integrated sleep centers at Wan Fang Hospital and Shuang-HoHospital, providing comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Presently, the sleep centers at TMU’s three major affiliated hospitals are accredited by the Taiwan Society of Sleep Medicine. In addition to clinical services, clinical sleep medicine specialistscollaborate with research resources at Taipei Medical University to expand sleep medicine research from bench to bedside.
TMU’s sleep medicine team are also dedicated to medical education, offering sleep medicine-related courses across multiple departments and conducting specialized training for sleep medicine physicians in clinical settings. Our goal is to provide comprehensive and effective treatment for patients suffering from sleep disorders.
Through the Sleep Medicine Department at Taipei Neuroscience Institute, we integrate sleep medicine experts from our three affiliated hospitals, ensuring ample professional manpower and clinical resources to safeguard sleep quality for patients seeking medical care, aiming for a good night sleep and peace of mind for everyone.
